Tabik Restaurant
The project was inspired by the construction processes and materials used in Lisbon after the 1755 earthquake, both structurally and aesthetically.
The structure was recreated with new interior walls whose function was to protect the building along the main divisions giving more resistance to the structure.
Later, the tiles appeared, especially after the industrialization of their production. This inspired us to design tiles exclusively for this space, piece by piece.
Even if tiles were applied predominantly in the walls we decided to adopt this method also for the floor.
The Restaurant has three main areas: the lighter daytime dining area, the wine area, with exclusive machines that modernize the classic tavern where people gathered, and the innermost area, which is a versatile space that can be used as a large dining room or divided into small romantic dining spaces.
